Garden Golf Balls

My husband’s family is big into golf. So it’s no surprise that we have a lot of extra golf balls lying around. (Well that and my father-in-law loves to go hunting for balls in the woods.) So this past summer, we decided to give some of those balls a new life and turn them into caterpillars. It was so, so easy! Here’s how:

Supplies: Golf balls, patio paint, super glue, cork mats, googley eyes, paper clips

1. We used an outdoor-friendly paint (Patio Paint) and painted the balls.
2. After they dried, we used super glue to secure the balls together and to their mat (that’s just a cheap cork board that you can pick up at the craft store).
3. We attached “googley” eyes to give our caterpillars a little personality.
4. Finally, we unraveled paperclips to make the antennas (wrap them around a pencil for the curl).
