We have this half wall that separates our family room from the kitchen. I’ve always thought it was pretty boring, so I decided to turn it into a bulletin board instead. After all, with all the artwork, projects and papers we both do and get from school, we needed extra display room. I love this project because it’s easy, inexpensive and extremely functional. Here’s how we did it…
SUPPLIES
- Self-stick cork tiles
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Push pins
1. Clean your wall thoroughly and dry.
2. Think about how you’re going to do your design. You’re likely going to have to make some cuts and do some custom fitting, so take a little time to figure out the easiest way.
3. Peel off the backs of the cork tiles one at a time, and press firmly onto your wall.
4. As needed, use a ruler and scissors to make custom cuts. Then apply those pieces to the wall.
5. Pin up your artwork, pictures, calendar or whatever else you want to hang.
*Just one note about the cork tiles…they are not all created equal! I actually redid my wall because I didn’t get tiles thick enough up front and then the push pins kept popping out. Make sure you get tiles that are thick enough and are self-adhesive.
